NSE 4 is the most in-demand Fortinet certification and the entry point every FortiGate admin is expected to hold. The 7.6 exam (code FCP_FGT_AD-7.6) replaced the 7.2 version in November 2025, so material written for older FortiOS releases will steer you wrong on the newest features.
What decides it: firewall policies and the order they're evaluated, NAT in all its forms, security profiles and SSL inspection, the FortiGate routing table and how sessions are built, authentication and FSSO, and site-to-site plus dial-up IPsec VPN. The exam is configuration-focused - it wants to know you can build and troubleshoot a real deployment, not just define terms.
